Yoga & Trekking in Annapurna, Nepal – May 2018

Arrive in Kathmandu 6th May 2018- Depart Kathmandu 16th May 2018

Experience Incredible Nepal with this 10 day yoga and trekking holiday in May 2017.

In May the skies are blue, clear and reveal the most striking snowclad Annapurnas – The perfect setting for an early morning yoga session and a day of trekking.  Each day will begin with Yoga practice as the sun rises, with one of the most beautiful and inspiring backdrops in the world and each evening as the sun goes down we will again practice yoga and meditate on the beauty we are surrounded by.  We will breath and stretch in the clear mountain air and feel refreshed, rejeuvinated and totally at peace.

Overview :

We arrive into KATHMANDU where we will have some time to explore this most ancient and exciting city.  We then travel to POKHARA by bus (around 6 hours).  On the way we will stop by the river and, for those who love whitewater rafting, you can continue your journey by rafting down river before meeting up with bus further along. (approx 2-3 hours).  The rapids are cooling and exciting! For those who don’t fancy so much excitment, the option is lunch and a swim at a lovely hotel while we wait for the ‘rafters’.

We will then arrive into the beautiful town of POKHARA and will stay in a hotel overlooking the lake. Here we have some time to relax, shop and also rent a rowing boat (complete with oarsman!) to row across the lake to the beautiful Peace Temple. We can also rent mountain bikes and follow around the lake to the river and take a cooling swim in the river – you may be joined by water buffaloo!!

Then we head to the National Park, collect our permits and off we go trekking through some of the most astounding and beautiful scenery you are likely to see.  High peaks and deep valleys.  We will stay each night in little Tea Houses, (family run guest houses) where we can sample home cooked organic food grown and picked freshly from their gardens. On one of the days  our trek will take us to a remote spot where we can bathe in the hot springs….so good after a mornings trek!

Whats included: Accommodation, Transport as per itinerary,  meals as shown on the itinerary.  Highly experienced and qualified Trekking Guide, daily Yoga – early morning and early evening in the most stunning locations! with qualified and experienced Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer.  Cost: £895.00* with an Early Bird price of £850.00* for confirmed bookings before 1st September 2017.  Group Size: Min: 8 Max: 16

Not included: Flights to Nepal, Visa and insurance, Annapurna sanctuary trekking permits, some meals.  Yoga is completely optional so this holiday is also suitable for those people who do not wish to partake in the Yoga classes. You do need to have a certain level of fitness for the trekking; the routes we have chosen are reasonably easy as its not all about the trekking.. but all about ‘being there and taking in the scenary’ in such a stunningly beautiful place.  We do not reach high altitudes but the trekking can sometimes  be challenging for some people, especially if the weather turns hot so hill walking training prior to the holiday is highly recommended.  There are 2 weekends arranged for Yoga and walking on Exmoor if you would like to book for those to improve your fitness levels. Outline  Programme:

6th May: Day 1:  Arrivals: Kathmandu. Depending on your flight arrival time you may have time t0 fit in some sightseeing, shopping or just relaxing at the hotel. Yoga. Overnight Kathmandu

Day 2: Yoga.Transfer to Pokhara (optional white-water rafting on the Trisuli River) Yoga. Overnight in guesthouse in Pokhara with wonderful lake views.  Pokhara, is a great trekking base, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, with a great back-drop of some of the highest and most spectacular mountains in the world.

Day 3: Pokhara

Day 4:  Check in at Annapurna Check post and begin our first trek

Day 5:  Trek

Day 6:  Trek

Day 7:  Trek

Day 8: Last Trek and then drive back to Pokhara

Day9:  Leisure day in Pokhara.   You can enjoy and take advantage of our great optional extras. There is tandem paragliding with a qualified instructor who will show you the joys of the freedom of flying, taking in the amazing views of the mountains we have explored on our treks. If you would like to relax, you can enjoy a massage and spa day, simply bliss! or you could visit the Bat Cave.

Day 10: We make our way back to Kathmandu – free time for sightseeing, shopping. Traditional Nepalese banquet for farewell dinner.
